WHO WE ARE
Teresa de Freitas founded Star & Key in early 2020 in Mauritius as a management company with the intention of providing high net worth individuals with a one-stop shop service. Since 2020, Star & Key has moved beyond Mauritius and is now based in London, Malta and Guyana.
We have established relationships with local partners in each jurisdiction who we can direct your individual needs to. Each partner offers specialist corporate governance and company secretarial services. We understand there is no single solution and we work to meet our clients requirements.
Not only do we strive to deliver a responsive, flexible service but we see ourselves as more of a partner than a service provider. In this world, it is not only the costs of doing business that is preoccupying businesses but the need for enhanced support from their service providers.
We recognise our limitations and do not seek to offer assistance that we cannot give. We outsource any specialist services that are outside our area of expertise. We think outside the box to find the simplest solution because they are usually the best. We know we are doing things differently and are proud of it.
Teresa de Freitas is an experienced Company Secretary who holds a LLB in Business Law and qualified in the United Kingdom as a Chartered Secretary. Teresa has worked for both companies listed on the London Stock Exchange and privately-owned groups.
Teresa worked for Virgin Management Limited, from 2001 to 2003, which provided management services to the Virgin Group of companies. From 2005 to 2008, Teresa worked at Tullett Prebon plc, a FTSE company, which was at that time the second largest inter-dealer broker in the world but has since merged with Icap plc to become the biggest. She held a key role in the listing of Tullett Prebon plc on the London Stock Exchange and was responsible for the daily compliance with its rules and regulations. Teresa’s final key role before taking time off to raise her daughter was at Lancashire Insurance Company (UK) Limited. Lancashire is part of the Lancashire Group of companies, a short-tail, specialty property re/insurance, which is in the FTSE 250, and is based in Bermuda and London.
